CHARLIE GRACIE 'LIVE'
AT THE STOCKTON GLOBE (First Show) August 26, 1957
CD $15 plus $2 postage and handling.
Charlie
Gracie was the FIRST solo American rock 'n' roller to bring the
music to the United Kingdom in his two extensive concert tours for
Lew and Leslie Grade in 1957 and '58. The tours totaled a whopping
15-weeks!
His first show at the Globe Theater at Stockton-On-Tees is available
for the first time here! The audience for this first show almost
veers out of control at some points. You'll hear Charlie's mastery
of crowd dynamics as he simultaneously stirs them up and keeps them
in bounds. Despite the limitations of portable recording technology
in the 50's, you also hear the powerful vocals and blasting guitar
that galvanized a generation of British teens and stunned theirmums
and dads! Charlie perfoms all his hits, but throws in raucous versions
of "Hound Dog,: "Tutti Fruitti," "Ko Ko Mo,"
"Long Tall Sally,' "Sway" and Paul McCartney's favorite:
"Guitar Boogie!" This is a piece of rock 'n' roll history!
Includes Postage and Handling.
